New Product Reviews

Hi Beauty World!

I have found some more products that I cannot wait to tell you about! Some have even become replacements for things I previously used all the time and others are new things that I love and use on a regular basis. Hopefully these products find their way into your makeup bags as well!

I recently visited Sephora and I can never resist browsing the aisles to see what’s new even if I have a list of things I need that I do not want to veer from, but lets face it, that RARELY happens.

The first few things on this list were actually on my list prior to walking into Sephora. The first thing I needed was liquid eyeliner. I love the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner, but I have found that the felt tip does not last very long and can actually make applying an even line difficult once it gets broken in. I decided to try a new eyeliner that was located in Sephora’s oh-so-helpful “favorites” sections that usually bookend the aisles. I saw this and decided to give it a try:

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I decided to try this eyeliner mainly because of the tip – it has small bristles instead of a felt tip which I thought would be longer lasting. Plus it was less expensive than the Stila alternative! The first time I used this eyeliner I fell in love with it. It has just as much pigmentation as the Stila liner and is just as easy to use. The packaging even says that this liner can be used to create temporary tattoos so you know it is going to be long-lasting. From my experience with this liner so far I give it a thumbs up! I will definitely be purchasing this again.

The second item that was on my list was concealer (the concealer I use to highlight, not conceal blemishes). I really liked the Nars concealer I was using to highlight but I felt that the color was too light and I was running out so I decided to try something new. After checking out basically all of the concealers that Sephora has to offer, which I do not recommend doing because it takes forever and after a while everything starts to look the same, I chose this one:

Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer

This is Sephora’s newest concealer so I decided to give it a try! I make my best effort to buy Sephora Brand products when I can because they are usually the least expensive, but most of my most-loved products are unfortunately made by more expensive brands. I bought this concealer in the color “Meringue” after testing it on my hand. This color is not much darker than the Nars concealer I previously had but it was enough to make a difference. The first time I highlighted my face with this concealer I fell in LOVE. It is so creamy and smooth, and the applicator is super soft. It brightened up my face just enough to give me a healthy glow. There are so many perks to this concealer, and I think I may have to swap this one out with the Nars concealer and add it to my every day staples. Who knew I would like a Sephora brand product better than a designer brand?!

The next product I bought was not on my list, but I had to buy it once I saw it. It was in the same section as the concealer mentioned above, and I had to have it.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain

These lip stains are great! I bought the color “05-Infinite Rose” which is pictured above. This product is a lip stain which means it is long lasting but the great thing about this lip stain is that it has the texture of a creamier liquid lipstick. There is a very wide selection of colors and it was so hard for me to choose! I finally settled on Infinite Rose because it is a perfect blend between nude and pink. There are many more colors I want to try so I will most definitely be going back for more.

I have actually owned this next product for quite some time however now that “Strobing” has become more popular I use this product all the time:

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder

I am obsessed with this luminizer. I bought it in the color “Highlight 01.” It shimmers so beautifully and brightens up my entire face! I usually apply it on my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow, my chin and on my cheekbones. These are the points on the face that attract the most light so the shimmer bounces right off and gives a healthy glow. I LOVE strobing and will definitely be doing more research on how to improve my technique. I recommend trying it as well – you will love it. Once I run out of this luminizer, I absolutely have to try “Champagne Pop” made by BECCA Cosmetics in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill. It has gotten phenomenal reviews so far and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

Another product that I bought recently was an impulse buy but I had to have it. I am always looking for ways to change up my makeup look so I figured buying this product was the perfect way to do so:

Morphe Brushes – Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette

As I have mentioned previously, I love watching Jaclyn Hill’s YouTube tutorials. I watched one of her videos promoting a new eyeshadow palette she was working on with Morphe Brushes and I knew I had to try it – especially since it was only going to be offered for a limited time. I couldn’t even find a link to give you because it isn’t for sale on Morphe’s website anymore. However if you are looking for new eyeshadow I recommend checking out all of Morphe’s other palettes! I love the Jaclyn Hill Favorites palette because Jaclyn got to hand-pick all of her favorite Morphe eyeshadow colors and put them all into one amazing palette. I use most of these colors quite often as well and I love the fact that there are some darker and bolder colors in it that I can use when I want to create a more dramatic eyeshadow look. The colors have fabulous pigmentation and I do not notice any fading from the time I put it on. The mix of matte and shimmer colors is great as well. The possibilities are endless with this palette. I love when Jaclyn posts tutorials using this palette so that I can see the amazing work she does with it and try my best to replicate it.

Last but certainly not least, my favorite new product of all:

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation

I bought this product because I ran out of my Make Up Forever HD Foundation that I use every day so I went in to Sephora expecting to simply replace it, but I found out that they completely replaced the regular HD Foundation with the Ultra HD Foundation! I was a little apprehensive because I wasn’t sure how different this foundation would be from the original but let me tell you this foundation is amazing! It is a little bit lighter than the original which makes the foundation feel virtually weightless on my face. I thought the original foundation was weightless, but this one takes it to a whole new level! When I put this foundation on I can barely see it on my face. I love it even more than the original and I am so glad Make Up Forever improved their formula and made an even more amazing foundation. I am so impressed by this foundation and will never be nervous about Make Up Forever’s new products again.

That’s all for now!

With love,

Detox Water – My New Obsession

Detox Water – My New Obsession

Wow — didn’t realize it had been so long since my last post!

Recently, I have been trying to think of methods to better my health and overall wellness. Detox/fruit infused waters are the latest craze, so I decided to give them a try. I am a big fan of fruit and I am constantly drinking water, so what could be better than combining them?!

I did some searching with help of the ever trusty Google and found two awesome articles with recipes for detox waters. The first article I found gave me 20 options to work with, and the second article I found gave me 50 options! Combined I instantly had 70 amazing recipes to choose from. So far I have tried four different recipes mainly of the same variation, and here is what I thought of them.

The first detox water I made was a bit of an experiment since I combined a few recipes from the articles. After reading through the articles and seeing the different recipes I realized that I didn’t have to follow one specific recipe or another. You can really use any type of fruit to make these detox waters as long as you think they will taste good. I just decided to combine fruits that I thought would go well together. I also did not want to go too crazy with my first attempt so I kept it simple with ingredients I knew I would like.

Instructions will be the same for all recipes:

  • Fill up your water bottle half way with your fruit/herb ingredients and ice. Fill the remainder with water and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • The longer you let the ingredients infuse, the stronger the flavor will be.

Recipe #1

  • 1/2 Lemon (sliced)
  • 5 Strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Basil (I used dried basil because it was the only kind I had, but I am sure fresh basil would be better)

I let this particular detox drink sit in the fridge for only an hour because I couldn’t wait to try it. When the hour was up, I tried it and it tasted SO amazing. All of the individual flavors came out and complimented each other perfectly. I will definitely be making this recipe again.

Recipe #2

  • 1/2 Lemon (sliced)
  • 1/2 Lime (sliced)
  • 5 Strawberries (sliced)
  • 3 Mint Leaves

I used the same method (1/2 bottle ice and fruit, 1/2 water) but this time I let it sit overnight so I could take it to work with me the next day. I did not like this combination as much as I liked the first one. The taste of the lime overpowered the rest of the flavors and it was a bit overwhelming for me. I usually love drinks with lime flavors in them but this was a little bit too potent. Maybe if I used less lime it would have tasted more balanced.

Recipe #3

  • 1/2 Lemon (sliced)
  • 5 Strawberries (sliced)
  • 5 Mint Leaves

I basically made the same recipe as above but I left out the limes. I also let this recipe sit overnight for work the following day. This one tasted much better than the previous one because it lacked the strong lime taste. I loved the combination of the mint with the lemons and strawberries. So delicious. Definitely a recipe I will repeat.

Recipe #4

  • 1/2 Lemon (sliced)
  • 1/2 Cucumber (sliced)
  • 5-6 Mint Leaves

This recipe was also an over-nighter and was soo delicious. The combination of the cucumber, lemon and mint was super refreshing. I feel like this is the type of water you would get at a spa. It was the perfect solution to a hot summer day.

My overall opinion of detox waters is that they are healthy, refreshing, and they taste amazing! It is a perfect addition to any daily food regimen. You can replace this with the water you drink every day and receive added nutrients from the fruit you decide to infuse. There are barely any calories in these waters which is awesome since they taste so great! Drinking something so healthy has never tasted so good.

Another thing I noticed was that drinking these detox waters gave me an incentive to keep hydrated all day. Plain water can sometimes be boring, but knowing I had something delicious to sip on all day made staying hydrated so much more enjoyable.

I wasn’t sure about the whole “detox” aspect of these waters because I have never done an intense detox before. It definitely flushed out my system, but it is nothing to be wary of. A gentle detox at MOST.

I hope to hear about your opinions on detox waters and what recipes you all have tried!

Until next time,

Summer Makeup Tips!

Summer Makeup Tips!

Hey All!

Since summer is in full swing, I have been thinking about different ways to do my makeup to ensure that it stays on all day. I have come up with three important tips that I believe will help you get the most out of your makeup this summer; they have definitely helped me!

1. Moisturize

As I said before, it is so important to moisturize your face. No amount of makeup will look good if your skin is dry underneath. With that being said, it is also important not to use anything too heavy for the summer that will cause you to be more oily than normal. Even though I love my Renewed Hope In a Jar by Philosophy, it is a little thicker than other moisturizers and is probably better for the winter or when I am going to be inside for most of the day. I discovered this moisturizer last summer:

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream

This moisturizer can be found at any local CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc. It is very affordable and it is one of the best drug store moisturizers I have tried. It is a gel moisturizer so it is much lighter than any cream which is perfect for warm weather. Also, it immediately makes my skin super soft with no oily residue. There is another formula for dry skin which works wonders as well. I definitely recommend trying this moisturizer during these hot summer months! You won’t believe how light and fresh your skin feels. Plus, it is made by Garnier, so you know it is going to smell amazing.

2. Prime

It is also very important to make sure your face is primed to no end if you want your makeup to stay all day! I use this trick to make sure that my makeup stays on as long as possible:

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray

This setting spray is one of my favorite makeup items. I spray this all over my face right after I apply my moisturizer and let it dry completely. This setting spray mattifies my whole face and helps my makeup stay on much longer. After it is completely dry, I apply my foundation primer and get to work with my actual makeup. This setting spray has been a huge help for me this summer especially when I have been outside for a good portion of the day. I also spray this all over my face again after I am done with my makeup to seal it all in.

3. BB/CC Cream

During the summer, I sometimes use a BB or a CC cream in place of foundation. If you do not know what BB and CC creams are, they are essentially tinted moisturizers. BB cream has ingredients to help fight acne whereas CC creams are more traditional tinted moisturizers. They give about the same amount of coverage as a lightweight foundation which is perfect for warmer climates. Powder foundations such as Bare Minerals Matte Foundation are great alternatives as well. When I know I am going to be spending a whole day in the sun and want a little more coverage than just powder, I use this CC Cream:

fileAsset (5)

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

I got this CC Cream in my May 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag and it was by far my FAVORITE product of the month. A few weeks after I received all of my Ipsy products, I still had not tried this one and was considering whether or not I even wanted to. Then, one morning I accidentally overslept and lost about ten minutes of my morning routine. I saw this CC cream in my makeup box and since I was in a pinch, I decided to use it in place of my foundation. Let me just tell you, this stuff is absolutely incredible. Not only is it pigmented like a foundation, it gave my face an amazing glow and blended in perfectly with my skin. I didn’t have to take the extra few minutes applying my foundation with a brush; I just squeezed a small amount into my hands and evenly blended the CC cream onto my face. Now I know that whenever I am in a pinch or really do not feel like using foundation, this CC cream is the next best thing. It also has a high SPF in it, which is perfect for spending the day outside. I will most definitely be purchasing more of this when my sample runs out!

After trying almost everything to help my makeup stay on in hot weather, these three tips were the ones that I felt worked the best. I hope you all find them useful as well!!

Brushes and Blenders

Brushes and Blenders

Hey Bloggers! It’s almost Friday!

Today I am going to share my favorite makeup brushes and blending tools with you.

Some of these makeup brushes can be easily substituted for cheaper drug store brands, but these are the ones I use and love.

  • The first face brush I use is my foundation brush. If you are going to spend a little extra on any of your makeup brushes, I suggest splurging on a foundation brush. I recommend:

Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki

I recently discovered this brush from one of Jaclyn Hill’s fabulous makeup tutorials. She swears by this foundation brush and I can see why. If you haven’t checked out her YouTube Channel yet, you really should. Her tutorials are SO helpful and informative. The Sigma F80 is fantastic. It applies foundation flawlessly and streak free. It also does not absorb much product so you get the most out of your foundation. This is by far the best foundation brush I have ever used. You do have to wash this brush after every two or three uses though. It is always important to keep your brushes clean and bacteria free anyway to help prevent breakouts.

  • Brush sets are great because you get a lot for your money. As long as the brushes you are buying are good quality ones, I suggest buying brush sets to save you time and money. The first brush set I own is:

DragonPad 24 Piece Brush Kit

I purchased this brush kit from Amazon a few years ago and I love these brushes. I do admit that I purchased these back when I did not have much experience with makeup and I do not use all of them, but the ones I do use are great. I love the big fluffy brushes in this kit and the eye shadow brushes are also really great. I love the spoolie brush it comes with as well; it is great for brushing out your brows. This kit also comes with a roll-up case that is great for travel. I always use the roll-up case when traveling because it is compact and protects my brushes. The best part about this brush set is that it is only $14!!! If you are just starting out and want a basic brush set, I recommend this one.

The second brush set that I recently purchased is:

Sephora Natural Resources: Everyday Eye Brush Set

I purchased this brush set recently because I was in need of new eye shadow brushes. I spotted these in Sephora and decided to try them out. These brushes are fantastic! I use them every day to apply my eye shadow. They are sturdy and are really great at applying and blending eye shadow. I especially love the rounded crease brush because it is SO good at blending your eye shadow to give it that perfected look. This kit also comes with brush cleansing wipes, a tutorial pamphlet and a travel case. The Sephora brush set is more expensive than the one listed above, but if you want quality brushes that are going to make your eye shadow look flawless, I recommend these.

Here you can see how I applied my eye shadow. I used The color “Limit” from the Naked 3 Palette on my lid and the medium brown color from the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette in my crease. I used the brushes from the Sephora Natural Resources Kit (small shadow and rounded crease brush) to create this look. It is simple and perfect for the work day. Also, you can see here how amazing the mascara duo I mentioned in my Every Day Staples post is. NO editing or fake lashes at all.

  • As I mentioned in my Every Day Staples post, I love to contour and highlight. My powder contouring kit came with its own brush and I used it for a while, but I didn’t love it. I wanted to try something different.

Sigma F05 Small Contour

When I purchased my Sigma F80 foundation brush, I was poking around on the Sigma website and decided to try this one out. I had been looking for a different brush to contour with and was using different brushes that I already had, but none of them were doing the trick. I purchased this brush on a whim and am SO glad I did. The small contour brush applies just the right amount of powder and blends very easily as well. I am sure you could find a brush very similar to this one in a drug store for much less, but since I am pretty impulsive with my purchases I couldn’t resist trying this brush out.

  • Finding a good brush to highlight with is equally as important. When I bought my Too Faced Cocoa Contour kit, the woman who helped me out recommended this amazing brush:

Sephora Pro Precision Blush Brush #73

I actually have two of these brushes, I use one for my highlighting powder and the other I use for blush application. I absolutely love this brush. It is so soft and applies product beautifully. This brush is definitely one of my favorites.

  • Blending your face to give it a fresh, even look is key. The first thing I use to blend my makeup is:

Sephora Beauty Blender

The Beauty Blender is one of my favorite makeup tools. I mainly use it to blend my cream concealer/highlighter and to make sure that everything on my face is even. It helps if you dampen the blender before you use it as well. The beauty blender can reach the nooks and crannies of your face, especially around the eyes, that normal brushes or even your fingers cannot. The Beauty Blender does a great job of giving me full, even coverage under my eyes to get rid of bags and dark circles.

The second blending tool I use is:

Sephora Classic Mini Multitasker Brush #45.5

This brush was recommended to me at the same time I bought my contour kit, powder highlighter brush and blush brush. I love the Sephora Classic Mini Multitasker because it is compact and it can be used for many purposes. This brush is the travel version of a normal-sized brush, but since I have smaller features and this brush was about $10 cheaper I decided to go with the smaller of the two. After I apply my contour and highlight powder, I run this brush all over my face to make sure everything is even. It is so soft and does a great job of evening my whole face out. This brush can be used to blend cream contour products as well.

  • As I mentioned above, it is very important to keep your brushes clean. I try my best to wash mine once a week. I have come to notice a huge difference between how my makeup turns out from using a brush that has just been washed and from one that has been building up with product for a while. Brushes that are not washed frequently not only build up product, but acquire unwanted bacteria that can cause you to break out. I clean my brushes using these two products:

Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove

Baby Shampoo

I purchased the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove along with my foundation and contouring brushes. I love it because it saves time and has different textured sections to wash, refine, and rinse the brushes. The two sides of the glove are also different; one is for face brushes and the other is for eye brushes. I wash all of my face brushes first, flip the glove over and wash my eye brushes. Before I purchased the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove, I used to wash my brushes by rubbing them with soap and water in the palm of my hand. It worked fine, but I found that this method caused some irritation and my fingers would get pruney. Now that I have the Sigma Glove, cleaning my brushes is much easier and more enjoyable.

The soap I use to wash my makeup brushes is baby shampoo. I just bought a generic brand of baby shampoo from Target. Baby shampoo is great because it is mild and is not as harsh as regular shampoos which is perfect for the synthetic material used in most makeup brushes.

One more important thing to remember is to ONLY wet the top of the brush. The handle should stay dry, so make sure you do not put your water on too high. The handles have glue in them to keep the brushes together, and water can take some of the glue off. I know there are a lot of methods for washing makeup brushes and I am eager to try them out, but for now this one has worked wonderfully for me.

Most importantly, remember “Happiness and confidence are the prettiest things you can wear.
― Taylor Swift

Thats all for now 🙂

Every Day Staples

Every Day Staples

Hello Blogging World!!

For my first post, I thought it would be a great idea to share all of my favorite beauty products that I use every day. I also sprinkled in some tips on how to use them.

I listed the products in the order that I do my own makeup so that I did not leave anything out.

  • Moisturizer

I cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure your skin is hydrated. No amount of makeup can cover up dry and unhealthy skin. It really helps to find a moisturizer that you love and that works with your skin type. My all time favorite moisturizer is:

Renewed Hope in a Jar by Philosophy

This moisturizer is AMAZING. I first discovered it from a sample I received at one of my frequent Sephora visits and had to have it. This is the only moisturizer I have used that left my skin feeling completely hydrated. Not to mention baby smooth! Though this moisturizer is a bit pricey (then again, most moisturizers found at Sephora are), it is totally worth it. The only downfall I noticed about this moisturizer is that it does not have any SPF in it. However I have spent many days out in the sun and have never gotten a sunburn or any irritation. For the record, I am about 75% Irish, so that says something. It also helps if you use a foundation with SPF in it, but overall I do not see this as a major issue.

  • Foundation Primer

If you want your foundation to last all day without falling off or losing its oomph, I highly suggest using a foundation primer. I never really thought there was a need for foundation primer, but once I started using it I could no longer live without it. Priming your face really does make a difference. My favorite foundation primer is:

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer blurs out pores and gives your face a completely smooth look and feel. This primer has a slight tint to it so it does a great job of evening out your skin tone. Squeeze a small amount into your hands and blend on to your face evenly. Foundation looks flawless on top of this primer – as long as your face is properly moisturized! 🙂

  • Foundation

Foundation is one of the most important beauty staples. It is SUPER important to make sure that your foundation matches your skin tone so that you get completely flawless, even coverage. Not to mention, no one wants that dreadful line showing the difference in color between your foundation and your skin. My go-to foundation is:

Make Up Forever HD Foundation

I love this foundation because it makes my skin look flawless. It is not too heavy and is easily buildable. I fell in love with this foundation about six months ago and have turned many friends and family members on to it as well. It comes in a wide variety of shades and can easily be matched to most skin tones. Especially now that it is summer, this foundation is great because it is breathable and does not make you look or feel like you are wearing too much makeup.

  • Concealer

I use concealer for two purposes: the first purpose, the more obvious of the two, is to cover up unwanted blemishes. My favorite concealer for this purpose is:

Bare Minerals SPF 20 Correcting Concealer

I love this concealer because it is super creamy and goes on so smoothly. It is honestly the best concealer I have ever used for covering up blemishes. Another thing I love about it is that it does not move out of place once it is put on. Not much is needed either, so it lasts a long time.

The second purpose I use concealer for is to highlight my face. I recently discovered contouring and highlighting and I am completely obsessed. I really do not remember what my life was like without it, and I never want to go back there. I use a lighter shade of concealer for highlighting than the one I use to cover my blemishes. My favorite concealer/highlighter is:

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

This highlighter/concealer is my favorite because it is thick and provides full coverage. I use this concealer to highlight under my eyes, my forehead, my nose, and my chin. This concealer is especially great for under the eyes because it gets rid of bags and dark circles. This concealer really does give me a radiant look; my face is instantly brightened after using this concealer and I love the way it makes me look more awake and ready to take on the day.

  • Contouring

As I said above, I am so obsessed with contouring and highlighting. I do it every day. I use powder to contour during the week and a cream contour when I want to take it up a notch, but since I am sticking to my every day staples I am going to tell you about the powder I use. My FAVORITE powder contouring kit is:

Too Faced Cocoa Contour Palete

I am OBSESSED with this palette. I actually use every shade. Other powder contour kits come with a bunch of different shades, but this one sticks to the basics. Plus it smells like chocolate!!! I use the dark and medium colors to contour my cheeks, chin, nose and top of my forehead, and the light color over the places I highlighted with the cream concealer to set it. This palette also comes with a shimmery highlight color which is gorgeous. This can be used on the cheekbones to give you an extra glow.

  • Blush

Blush is another thing I can’t live without (who am I kidding, I can’t live without anything on this list). I love the rosy cheek look, and I think that once I have blush on, my face makeup is completely tied together. My favorite blush is:

NARS Blush

The two colors I own are “Unlawful” (pictured above) and “Super Orgasm.” I usually use “Unlawful” on the apples of my cheeks on a daily basis, but when I am feeling a bit more playful I either layer it or completely switch it out with “Super Orgasm” since it has more of a girly pink tone to it. I love how these blushes have strong pigments and do not fade much throughout the day, which is what every working girl needs.

  • Eyebrows

Nowadays, if you don’t fill in your eyebrows, you are considered a rare creature. Once I began filling in my eyebrows I became addicted. I do not have very dark or thick eyebrows, so once I started filling them in I felt like my whole face looked much more put together. These are the products I use for my brows:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

This might seem like a lot, but it really is not very time consuming once you get the hang of it. I use the Brow Wiz to create my shape, the Dipbrow to fill it in, and then the Clear Brow Gel to keep my brows in place. All three of these products put together look beautiful and natural. I do not go too heavy on my brows since they are not too thick to begin with, but I fill them in just enough to accentuate them.

  • Eye Shadow Primer

Eye Shadow primer is equally as important as foundation primer. It keeps your eye Shadow from creasing, smudging, or falling off throughout the day. My go-to eye Shadow primer is:

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion

This eye shadow primer is everything. It really does keep my eye shadow on ALL DAY LONG. It never moves or creases. This primer now comes with a wand to make application even easier which I love. I have forgotten to use eye shadow primer a few times in the past and have definitely seen a difference. My eye shadow was creased and was just not pretty. A word to the wise – never forget eye shadow primer.

  • Eye Shadow

I try to switch up the eye shadow I wear throughout the week to keep things interesting, but my main staples remain the same. The eye shadow palettes I use most of the time are:

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

These two palettes are the ones I always find myself going back to. I have tried so many different eye shadows, many of which I also love, but I always end up using these two to complete my every day look, especially when I am in a rush to get out the door. I usually use the lighter pink colors from the Naked 3 on my lid and the browns from the Smashbox Full Exposure in my crease.

  • Eyeliner

I am a huge fan of liquid eyeliner. I FINALLY mastered the winged look without having to wipe it off and try again a hundred times. My favorite liquid eyeliner is:

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

The main reason I love this eyeliner is that it is so easy to use. I tried using other liquid eyeliners that required dipping a brush into a tube, but I found that the pen is the more convenient style for me. It helps my hand stay more steady and I do not have to worry about the brush running out of eyeliner half way through. This eyeliner is also waterproof, so it will stay on longer than other liquid eyeliners. Because of this it does not fade throughout the day which is amazing. It helps your look stay put together all day long.

  • Mascara

I usually use two types of mascara. I am not a fan of false eyelashes mainly because my lashes are already fairly long and mascara usually does the trick. Ever since I was a teen I have never been happy with the mascaras I was using until now. I finally found the duo that makes my eyelashes look full and luscious. I have never been asked if my eyelashes were real more times than I have while wearing this duo of mascaras. They are:

L’oreal Telescopic Mascara

Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara

These mascaras are absolutely incredible on their own, but put together they are even better. I put one layer of the Telescopic on my lashes first, let them dry for a few minutes, and then layer on the Lash Domination. If you have never used Lash Domination, you are seriously missing out. The brush is indescribably awesome. It separates every lash and really makes my eyelashes pop without making them look too thick or clumpy.

I usually do not wear a lot of lipstick during the work week because of my constant coffee drinking, but when I do I use this simple but beautiful color:

Sephora Retractable Lip Liner in “Mauve”

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in “Melted Chihuahua”

This lip liner-lipstick combo is gorgeous. Though they are not from the same brand they match each other beautifully. I love liquid lipsticks because they are long lasting and stay on longer than regular lipsticks do. This liquid lipstick also does not dry my lips out which I love. Some others can leave them feeling chapped and that can be really uncomfortable. This liquid lipstick also does not require an extra brush to apply it; it comes with an applicator right on the top. Just squeeze the tube, swipe your desired amount of lipstick on, and you’re done.

Anddddd…Voila! Here is the finished product featuring everything mentioned above:

OKAY, that does it for my every day makeup routine! I hope this list was helpful. I truly use all of these products on a daily basis and they have become my staples even for when I want to do a more dramatic look. You can certainly look forward to more posts from me about beauty, fashion, and maybe some health and fitness.

Until next time friends!
